Notice: Penalty Now Enforced for Missing ECTN Certificate

Dear Valued User,

We would like to inform you that the Djiboutian Port and Customs Authorities have begun enforcing penalties for any shipment arriving without a valid Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN).

We remind all shippers and freight forwarders that:

  • The ECTN is mandatory for all cargo discharged in Djibouti, including shipments bound for the Free Zone, effective since June 15, 2023.
  • The ECTN number must appear on the Bill of Lading. (Applications may be submitted with a draft B/L.)
  • Failure to obtain the ECTN before the vessel’s arrival will now result in fines and clearance delays.

To ensure compliance and avoid penalties, we strongly recommend initiating the ECTN process at least 5 days before departure.

As the official provider of Electronic Cargo Tracking Notes (ECTN) for Djibouti, we ensure swift service for our clients. If your ECTN draft correctly matches the details on your transport documents, we are committed to issuing the ECTN Number on the very same day of your application.
